Air service:

The Washington area has three airports:

Reagan National Airport (DCA), just across the river from central Washington, is about a 20 minute drive from the hotel; cab fare is estimated at $30 each way, while a two-train Metro ride will take about 30 minutes and cost under $4.

Dulles Airport (IAD), about thirty miles west in Sterling, Virginia, is about a 40-minute drive; expect cab fare to approach $60 each way. There is not yet train service to this airport, but a $5 shuttle runs every 15-20 minutes to the Wiehle-Reston East station on the Silver Line; from there, it's about a 50-minute trip on Metro's Silver and Red lines to Woodley Park, costing approximately $6.

Baltimore/Washington Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI), is about 35 miles northeast of the hotel; cab fare can be nearly $90, though depending on when you arrive it may be possible to take Amtrak or MARC train service direct to Union Station from the airport for less than $20--schedules for both are available in Google Maps.

Train and Bus service:

The hotel is about 3.5 miles from Washington's Union Station, featuring Amtrak service on eight routes, including the Acela ExpressNortheast Regional, and Vermonter with services to Philadelphia, New York, and New England; Capitol Limited service to Pittsburgh, Cleveland, and Chicago; Cardinal service to Indianapolis and Cincinnati; Crescent service to Atlanta and New Orleans; and CarolinianSilver, and Palmetto services to the Southeast.

Various intercity bus services, including GreyhoundMegabusPeter Pan, and Bolt Bus, also serve Union Station, as do regional rail services MARC to Baltimore and Central Maryland and VRE into Virginia. WMATA's Red Line subway provides direct service between Union Station and Woodley Park-Zoo Station around the corner from the hotel; the trip takes about twelve minutes and costs $1.85–$2.30 for most riders.

Local transit:

In addition to WMATA's Metro service, numerous buses stop at or near the hotel. Local transit schedules and directions are available in Google Transit or directly from WMATA. Please be aware that there may be construction occurring at some Metro stops. Be sure to check the advisories before you take the metro for any closures. Local Circulator bus is available in the area. Check the schedule for more details.
